Second week of art lessons! We did a little wrapping up from last week, and then continued with our back to school theme.
We discussed peer pressure and the girls told me the ways they are already facing it this soon in the school year! We talked about these two scriptures:
“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Proverbs 13:20 The kids noticed it doesn’t say not to be a friend, but not to be a companion, or join in! We also read “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” There are lots of ways to renew your mind, and art can be one of them:-)
We did the first half of a project today, so there are no finished pictures. The girls picked out words they wanted to describe themselves. They chose “brave, strong, courageous, smart,” and “intelligent.” (Gotta love these kids) We learned to make block letters and wrote our words on black paper. We discussed and illustrated with all sorts of images that go with the words we chose. Today we went over our lines with white glue, but you’ll have to “come back” next week to find out why:-D
