Larry Brown Portrait

I really did my research when I was asked to paint Oxford, Mississippi native, Larry Brown. . .I read Fay. If you have read that book I would be interested in hearing your thoughts if you’d like to leave them in the comment section.  I enjoyed the book but is it supposed to be taken as black comedy? I’m a little unsure.  Back to the artwork:-). . . This painting is all acrylic and I loved thinking about the breeze in the trees and the dappled sunlight on a bench in Oxford.  The quote says “You take what you’re given, whether it’s the cornfields of the Midwest or the coal mines of West Virginia, and you make your fiction out of it. It’s all you have. And somehow, wherever you are, it always seems to be enough.”
