Matching Guitar and Star Paintings

I got an email last week from someone who just loved the guitar painting I did for my brother, Jay.

She was looking to redo her son’s room. This was a fun process because she sent pictures of his room so that she and I could decide together what would look  nice. We decided to go with this trend of a focal painting with a smaller, matching painting off to the side.

So often when I post pictures I notice that the thumbnail looks awesome, because it crops the artwork in some unique way. This customer noticed that very thing. She didn’t want the entire guitar, she wanted it to look like the thumbnail, which is artfully cropped entirely by fluke!

The star is painted as an “accessory” to the guitar, with similar colors and lines.  I like this set because I got to use crackle medium, and you know how that gets me excited:)

    Hi, Jenny,
My name is Alicia and I’m a first grade teacher in California.  My first grade class has decided to send stars to Sandy Hook Elementary School.  We will write words of hope, words of kindness, words of love on them.  I’m wondering if I can show your star painting as an example.  We will be reading Cynthia Rylant’s The Stars Will Still Shine and then using pastels to create our own stars containing our words.  Please let me know if it’s okay to use your work in this manner.  Thank you kindly.
    Alicia
