After a baby-mandated hiatus, art lessons are back in session! Yesterday it was so nice to see their fresh, excited faces.
We started off the year by doing this fun, crafty little mixed media project.I printed several of my favorite verses in my favorite old typewriter font. Even though I had duplicates each child wound up choosing a different verse- each for their own unique reasons.Yes, I’m ready. . .they are going to teach me so much, I can tell!
“Kids, this is Mod Podge.” Its always great to introduce someone new to the wonders of my favorite art supplies:)
For my little example I chose Romans 8:28.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
I’ve heard it a million times but lately I feel a new ache to make it my truth. I want to be etched in me so deeply that I’m not toppled over every time there’s a strong wind. Its the “all things” part I struggle with. Its easy to count my list of blessings and see those things for what they are. . . but what about the parts of my life that I don’t like? The parts beyond my control like sleep deprivation, hurting friends, and a broken AC? Its hard to count any of that as blessing. . .but that’s the part of me I can tell God is working on. Cutting, tearing, pasting. . . a work in progress.
